Summer 2018 Internship Highlights

This past summer, High Tech Early College partnered with 11 local companies and organizations this summer, serving 30 students (freshman, sophomore and juniors). The companies and organizations our students partnered with included: United Airlines, RK Mechanical, Arts Street @ YEA, Marketo, and Moore Collection.

Summer internships range from work in computer information systems, IT support, graphic design, community-focused creative work, marketing, accounting, customer service and more!

Tia Harris, Grade 12 & Kenny Xayavong (Grade 11) -- United Airlines

Every intern that participated in this six week internship program were also fully immersed in a working environment, were able to develop professionalism skills, and are creating opportunities for themselves that address the current skills gap within our state. In addition, interns were eligible to earn up to an $1,100 award based on work performance. As our own Navee Essien mentioned, “It’s all worth it, and you gain the experience and having the experience at such a young age is beyond incredible. It will do you well in the future!”
