The Lobo-Bellos are working on a robot for this year's FRC Colorado Regional event at Denver University March 21st-23rd. The team has spent over 70 hours outside of school this semester designing, fabricating, and testing their machine, and there is still more to do!

This year's FIRST Robotics Competition theme is "Deep Space", meaning that the robot will have to function similarly to a planetary rover. It must be able to climb sheer surfaces, up to 13 inches, and manipulate objects in the field of play such as hatch panels and cargo. High Tech's team has built a more sophisticated design than last year, and with some clutch work in the next couple weeks they should be in prime position to reach their goal of finishing in the top 25 at Regionals.
The High Tech Lobo-Bellos, or Team 7243 as they are known in the FIRST league, are young and talented. Of the 11 students most heavily involved, 9 are underclassmen. With support from Mr. Lapaire and four professional engineers as mentors, the team sees themselves as on the rise and ready to win a Regional trophy for High Tech within 3 years.
