The CareerConnect Launch internship program is a work-based learning program that places student interns in local businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations. Internships are STEM-focused industries and require 100-120 hours at the work site. Interns are able to explore potential career paths and make meaningful contributions to their host organizations. Interns receive work readiness training and coaching from their Internship Coordinator. In addition, students are paid $1000 - $1100 based on their work performance as an intern.
HTEC has placed students in over 100 internships throughout the three years and continues to place students each semester. It is important to highlight the following data points that were collected and analyzed from post-program surveys, retention rates and intern performance:
94% average final evaluation score
72% of interns stated they were more motivated to excel in school after their internship.
98% stated their internship project provided a good way to learn new skills and understand more about the industry
Preliminary findings show students who participate in Launch Internships are nearly THREE TIMES more likely to graduate on time than their peers, even those who are struggling academically.

Congratulations to our HTEC interns for their commitment, motivation and perseverance to help them succeed and plan for their future!
