On October 3, a handful of student apprentices and CareerConnect staff gathered at Abraham Lincoln High School, to sit in on a panel with Superintendent Tom Boasberg and share their experiences with the CareerConnect Apprenticeship Program. Crystal Garay, a second year HTEC apprentice and Emily Takimoto, HTEC’s Work-Based Learning Coordinator, participated in this panel to provide their reflections as well as their excitement for the upcoming year.

The CareerConnect Apprenticeship Program combines free college credits with paid work experience. Apprenticeships offer immersive work-based learning, which provides students with transferable professional skills needed after graduating from high school and gives them a competitive advantage in the workforce. Recruitment for the Apprenticeship Program kickoffs on Friday, October 12 with Ms. Emily in the Work-Based Learning Center (B115)!
