HTEC Audio Production mix master Ben Thompson, Audio Level Three students & Ms. Emily took a trip to Boulder this week to visit two different studios -- Airshow Mastering and KMG Studios.

Ben Thompson has partnered with Anna Frick from Airshow mastering for the past few years in separate capacities. Anna’s work at Airshow encompasses studio albums, live recordings, reissues, and compilations across an array of formats, old and new, and a wide variety of genres and styles, from bluegrass and folk-influenced acts to rock and New Age projects. Students were able to engage in new forms of technology and listen to music in a highly sophisticated studio that was built to acoustic perfection. It was a great way to have students have exposure to this type of career in audio engineering.

Our second trip in Boulder was to KMG Studios, an acronym for ‘Keep Music Going’. Students were able to tour their studios as well as learn about classes available. Students were able to hear different snippets of recordings from local artists. KMG was valuable exposure for the students to hear about all the opportunities available to them.

Great post! Exploring audio engineering as a career is truly fascinating, especially with how technology is transforming the sound and music industry. Your insights on the importance of technical knowledge and creativity really stand out. Many students pursuing this field often struggle with complex academic projects and technical reports. That’s where engineering assignment writing help becomes valuable, offering expert guidance for mastering intricate topics and improving writing quality. This support ensures students not only understand theory but also excel practically in their audio engineering journey.
