CareerConnect Coach Mentoring Kickoff Sessions!

High Tech Early College has launched its third year of the Coach Mentoring sessions! The DPS CareerConnect Coach Mentoring program meets monthly and is designed to connect our HTEC scholars with professionals in business, technology and creative career fields.

CareerConnect Coach Cohort 2: Business/Comp Sci Students & Zayo Mentors

HTEC students are paired with mentors from two Denver companies, Zayo Group and Ogilvy -- we are thrilled welcome new and returning mentors this year! Each mentoring session is facilitated by HTEC’s Work-Based Learning Coordinator, Emily Takimoto, and includes specific activities oriented towards career exploration, work readiness and professionalism, academic planning and introduction to the programs and resources specific to HTEC.

Data collected from our Coach mentoring program shows visible increases in student school attendance, their ability to see themselves as capable and smart enough to pursue a professional career, their view of coursework relevancy, and educational aspirations.
